Premier Cosplayer to Appear at Area Celebration of Japanese Culture
Tranquil Ashes announced as Featured Cosplayer at T-MODE Cherry Blossom Cruise
ALEXANDRIA, Virginia (March 13, 2023) — is excited to announce that Tranquil Ashes will be the Featured Cosplayer at the T-MODE Cherry Blossom Cruise 2023.
Tranquil Ashes is a multi-talented artist who has distinguished herself with unique makeup, body paint, and cosplay, as well as showcasing exceptional sewing and armor-building skills.
She brings a unique set of skills and experiences to the festival after growing up in Baltimore but spending several years in Japan, where she was able to practice her craft among the best in the world.
Tranquil is a champion of body positivism.
She also creates spaces like the CosGala where fellow practitioners feel welcome.
Tranquil has been cosplaying for over six years with AfroPunk, Black Nerd Problems, and Sy-Fy – during a New York Comic Con panel – and more, taking note of her work.
She also creates content for Quirktastic and Nerds of Color. Mehron Makeup sponsored her to bring to life Corey the Manticore from Disney's Pixar Onward and Disney's Encanto Project in 2022.
In addition to being the Featured Cosplayer, Tranquil Ashes will host the Cosplay Contest and Fashion Walk onboard the Cherry Blossom Riverboat.
She will also judge the contest's first, second and third-place winners as cosplay, music and entertainment events fill the cruise with unforgettable experiences.
