Events > DJ Warz

DJ Warz is an original competitive T-MODE event where DJs get to showcase their talent and skills.

Entry Criteria

To compete in DJ Warz, you must:

Rules and Guidelines

All DJ Warz entrants must abide by the following rules and guidelines:

1. Music
Freestyle and your own music is allowed. Japanese and video game music, since T-MODE is an anime and gaming convention after all, is strongly encouraged.

2. Focus
The music should focus on leading into your opponent’s beats as to keep a smooth mix going. Then focus on putting your own personal spin on the mix. Humor or mocking beats are encouraged and acceptable.

3. Equipment
DJs are expected to bring their own equipment to battle, such as laptops, mixers, turntables, ect. No equipment will be provided by T-MODE other than the use of the convention’s speakers.

4. Timekeeper
Each DJ will be given 10 minutes to spin. The Music Events Director will use a stopwatch to indicate the end of each round. The clock starts from the beginning of the first beat spun by each competing DJ. Only the Music Events Director will be responsible for tracking time.

5. Disqualification
Competitors who are rude, abusive or deemed otherwise unsuitable by T-MODE will be disqualified from the competition.

6. Disclaimer
These rules are subject to change at any time without prior notice. We will make every effort to inform of any changes as far in advance as possible.

Judging

There will only be one winner for each battle. Judging is determined by audience applause and is final. There is no appeal process. Protests of the judging decision are prohibited and will not be accepted regarding any score or result of a decision.
